Friends Benefits and activities:
Friends can also participate in various activities from simply making tea and cake to helping look after one of our flower beds around the town. Friends also look after the Library garden and Anne’s Memorial Garden.
Anyone can also join the SIB Sidcombers to clean-up the beach and other areas, or become a Connaught Friend to work as a garden volunteer or tour guide. (no subscription fees) ‘Friends” can meet other friends at monthly meetings, held from April until August, have an opportunity to meet the judges on tour and have a free invitation to the annual Sidmouth in Bloom Awards held at Knowle.
Tours to gardens and other fund-raising events are organised to help raise money.
Sidmouth in Bloom has ‘Spruce Up Sidmouth’ weekends, and also free garden competitions. There is also a week’s event of the “Secluded Gardens of Sidmouth’ and ‘Friends’ can volunteer to help with teas during this fund-raising period.
'The Sidbashers', removes the Sid Valley of Himalyan Balsam. Please contact via email if interested. A new sensory garden is being developed and help is needed to maintain these raised beds.
Sidforce help EDDC Streetscene to improve street furniture, clean streets and tidy areas.
Look for SIB activities in the 'What's On' section of the Sidmouth Herald.
